Remember the Food Bank

Hunger is all year round:  The SHARE Food Bank receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the community to help those who are hungry in the Tri-cities.  In 2011, 8,900 people used the food bank and nearly half were children.
Please remember the Food Bank today - You can:

Purchase a food item and place it in the bin at the front of your grocery store.  Items needed are: canned meat and fish, canned fruit, peanut butter, tomato sauce, tomato paste, pasta and rice.

Or make an on-line donation right now by clicking here.  Your donation will help us purchase food for our Tiny Bundles program; dedicated to making sure babies in their first year of life get the nutrition they need to get a great start.

Tiny Bundles

Tiny Bundles is a program of the SHARE Food Bank designed to provide fresh foods to pregnant/nursing women and young children every week.

Since 2007, SHARE (with seed money from Fraser Health and some community donations) has been able to provide dairy, protein and fresh produce along with a weekly food bank hamper to pregnant women and children under one year of age.

There are one and two year old children whose families depend on our food bank who would greatly benefit from this enhanced program, but we don’t have the financial resources to help them. The added Tiny Bundles groceries costs $10/week ($40/month) and we currently serve 90 children. Help us meet our current demands by sponsoring a child. Your commitment will then help us to expand and include the 84 one year olds and 84 two year olds whose families are currently using the food bank into the Tiny Bundles program.

With Vancity’s help and your committed support, we can help more children in our community.
