SHARE’d Treasures Thrift Store A store providing low-cost, quality used household goods and clothes is a precious resource for families in need.
Role: Volunteers maintain operations by helping with various tasks in the store, such as sorting and sales.
Commitment: 3-4 hours/week.

Crisis and Information Line

People of all ages may call the Crisis Line to discuss loneliness, addiction, family conflict, mental illness, or thoughts of suicide. Crisis Line aids in solving their issues and lending an ear.
Role: As a Telephone Crisis & Information Volunteer you will aid callers by talking over concerns and exploring new options and resources. Extensive training is provided for qualified applicants. Must be over 19 years and speak fluent English. Criminal record check, interview, and personal references required.
Commitment: 16 hours/month, flexible shifts.

English Practice Group

Practice makes perfect! The program helps English learners practice their English speaking skills in conversations that are of interest or use to them. We provide them with a safe and comfortable space to practice English, learn about community resources, share their culture with others and make new friends!
Role: English Practice Group Volunteers facilitate conversation to allow group members to practice English. Criminal record check is required. Must be respectful and interested in cultural diversity.
Commitment: 1.5-2 hours/week

After School Program

At the Mountain View and Roy Stibbs Elementary Schools, activities are provided for 6-12 year old children, including sports and recreation, tutoring, and arts and crafts. Parents may also participate in this program through parenting workshops, employment programs, and English practice groups.
Role: Volunteers interact with children age 6-12, engaging in social, recreational, and educational activities. Various skills are welcomed (drama, athletics, crafts, etc.); must be genuinely interested in spending time with children. Criminal record check is required.
Commitment: Weekdays 2:30-4:3Opm.
