Ending Violence Against Women

Ending Violence Against Women Program (EVAW): This weekly, drop-in program is for women who have been emotionally or physically abused by their partner. The women who attend this program are currently in abusive relationships, have histories of abusive relationships or are unsure if what they are experiencing in their relationship is, in fact, abuse. Free child minding, snacks and refreshments are available.

Purpose: providing support for women who have experienced hurtful behaviour from a partner.
Who is it for: all women (including younger/older, varying level of abilities, any religious backgrounds, all cultural backgrounds, any income level and from the GLBT communities).
Registration: pre-registration is not required. This is an open, drop-in group. Free child-minding is available; please call to reserve space for your child[ren].
Where: further information available upon request, please call 604.936.3900.

The group gives you the opportunity to:

► Talk about your experiences in a safe, non-judgmental environment
► Rediscover your inner strengths and resources
► Rebuild your self-esteem
► Get information on a variety of topics requested by the women such as:
  • What constitutes abuse in a relationship?
