Discovery & Empowerment in Recovery
- Purpose: To support individuals in meeting their goals related to substance use through the 16-step empowerment model. It is a holistic approach to addressing substance misuse/abuse (addiction) that views people in theirwholeness-- mind, body and spirit. Each week a new step will be explored and discussed.
- Who it’s for: People who are part of SHARE’s Adult Alcohol & Drug Services. This group is not based on the 12-step model, but can work with it. Each participant has a desire to reduce or eliminate substances and has made an agreement to arrive and participate in the group substance free.
- When: This is a weekly drop-in group that runs for 1.5 hours. Although attending the 16-weeks in full is encouraged, individuals are free to drop-in at any step.

- How to join: To arrange a referral, please contact your SHARE Alcohol & Drug Counsellor. If you are interested in this group and you are not currently accessing our services, we suggest you contact SHARE by phone or in-person. You will receive further information about our services and, if appropriate, be admitted to SHARE’s Adult Alcohol & Drug Services.
