Program Assistant – Temporary, Full Time

This is an HSA Bargaining Unit Position and requires Union membership.

This position is open to male and female applicants.

Commencement date:  Immediately

Qualifications Required:

Grade 12 and at least one year administrative experience. 

Excellent reception & telephone skills. 

Competency in MS Word & computer software systems. 

Typing speed of minimum 50 wpm.

Classification/Salary:  Program Assistant; Grid Level 7,  $15.14 – $17.64 per hour 

Position: 35 hours per week – Term position ending May 2015

Location:  King Edward Street Office and New Westminster Children’s Centre

Hours of Work:  9:30 – 5:00, and occasional evenings

Summary of Duties:

File Management

Receive and process donations, payments, recording and receipting of same;

Word processing of correspondence, reports, meeting minutes etc.;

Produce statistical reports;

Data entry;

Provide telephone and in person reception relief;

Program support;

General clerical support;

Other duties as assigned.

Three (3) On Call/Casual School Age Workers  – After School Program

Qualifications Required:

Education: The School Age Worker has Grade 12, plus post-secondary training in a field related to Child and Youth Care, Recreation, School Age Child Care or other related field.  First Aid certificate and clear criminal record check required.

Experience: 6 months experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience working with groups of school age children and their families and planning and implementing program activities.

Classification/Salary:  School Age Worker

$15.85-18.45 per hour, Grid Level 9

Position: Casual/On Call - Up to 14 hours per week. Hours may vary.

Hours of Work:Monday - Thursday 2:00 - 5:00 pm

Summary of Duties:

The School Age Worker delivers programming to school age children, including children with special needs.  Develops and implements developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children in programs.

Location:

The After School Program is offered at Mountain View Elementary and Roy Stibbs Elementary School in Coquitlam. Program staff are based at SHARE’s Clarke Street location.
