Childminder, Casual/On Call

Qualifications Required:

Knowledge of Childhood Development

Experience with children in child care settings

Valid First Aid ticket, including Children’s C.P.R

Effective communication skills in English with children and adults

Fluency in Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese or Farsi is an asse

Classification/Salary:  Childminder (UNIQUE)

$14.36 -$16.72 per hour, Grid Level 6

Location: Family Resource Centres in Port Moody and Coquitlam, and other Tri-Cities locations as needed.

Summary of Duties:

Childminding

Group Facilitator I – Casual/On Call

Position:   This is a Casual/On Call position.

Qualifications Required:

Mother Goose Certification and/or Nobody’s Perfect training; post-secondary courses and knowledge of community resources; strong communication skills in English. Fluency in Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese or Farsi is an asset.

Classification/Salary:   Group Facilitator

$15.85 - $18.45 per hour; Grid Level 9 

Location: Family Resource Centres in Port Moody and Coquitlam, and other Tri-Cities locations as needed. 

Summary of Duties:

  • Conduct group sessions for Mother Goose and/or Nobody’s Perfect and other workshops and courses
  • Recruit and select participants for the program based on their skills and needs.
  • Plan group sessions in accordance with the program manual or guidelines and the participant’s skills and needs.  Prepares for group sessions by reviewing program manuals and other related materials.
  • Promote the program by performing duties such as distributing brochures and posters to the community and making presentations to community organizations.
  • Ensure that the necessary facilities, equipment and materials are available for the sessions.

Three (3) On Call/Casual School Age Workers  – After School Program

Posting #: 2014 - 035                                    Date: November 13, 2014

This is an HSA Bargaining Unit Position and requires Union membership.

This position is open to male and female applicants.

Commencement date: December 2014

Qualifications Required:

Education: The School Age Worker has Grade 12, plus post-secondary training in a field related to Child and Youth Care, Recreation, School Age Child Care or other related field.  First Aid certificate and clear criminal record check required.

Experience: 6 months experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience working with groups of school age children and their families and planning and implementing program activities.

Classification/Salary:  School Age Worker

$15.85-18.45 per hour, Grid Level 9

Position: Casual/On Call - Up to 14 hours per week. Hours may vary.

Hours of Work:Monday - Thursday 2:00 - 5:00 pm

Summary of Duties:

The School Age Worker delivers programming to school age children, including children with special needs.  Develops and implements developmentally appropriate activities and experiences for children in programs.

Location:

The After School Program is offered at Mountain View Elementary and Roy Stibbs Elementary School in Coquitlam. Program staff are based at SHARE’s Clarke Street location.
