SHARE Family & Community Services Society is a social-profit, independent, community-based organization that provides programs and services for vulnerable individuals and families in the Tri-Cities region (Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra. Established in 1972, SHARE has touched the lives of tens of thousands of people in the area and is a well-respected, warmly- regarded organization that enjoys tremendous community support.

We are seeking a Director, Programs and Services to lead the development of people, programs and services in our community development and counselling portfolio.

Key responsibilities will include:

a Recruiting, supervising and developing team members

a Overseeing a $2,000,000 budget

a Developing, implementing, evaluating and adjusting services

a Assisting in the development and implementation of operational and strategic plans

a Developing and submitting proposals and reports

a Representing SHARE on internal and external committees

Qualified candidates will possess:

§  A Masters in Social Work (or related degree)

§  Five years experience in program management and supervision

§  Demonstrated knowledge and experience in delivering counselling services and community development in the social services sector

§  Belief in a strength-based, solution-focused, inclusive approaches in working with people

§  Experience working with diverse client populations

§  Valid driver’s license and vehicle

This is an excluded senior leadership role, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer. The successful candidate will provide direction and support to our Counselling, Youth and Adult Addictions, Community Development and Child and Family Services teams.

Supervisor and Clinical Counsellor, Youth Substance Use Services
Regular, Full Time (.5 FTE Supervisor, .5 FTE Counsellor)

This is HSA Bargaining Unit Position and requires Union membership and is open to male and female applicants.

Commencement date:  ASAP

Qualifications Required:
Masters degree in counselling with specific training in Addictions.  Experience working with youth.  Supervisory and leadership experience.

Classification/Salary:
Supervisor  (.5 FTE)
Para-Professional Grid 17          
$28.06 – $32.99

Clinical Counsellor  (.5 FTE)
Para-Professional Grid 16
$26.26 – $30.91 per hour

Summary of Duties:

Supervisor
    Recruit, orient, direct and supervise the Youth Substance Use Services Team
    Conduct all human resource activities within the guidelines of the Agency Personnel Policy Manual and the Collective Agreement.
    Review and monitor service to ensure that goals of persons served, program goals and contract requirements and outcomes are being met and appropriate service provided.

Counsellor Position
•    Work with clients to provide case management, assessment, goal setting and treatment planning.  Experience working with youth (for youth addiction position)
•    Individual and group counselling
